GenVisc 850: Joint Fluid Knee Therapy

What is GenVisc850 or Joint Fluid Therapy?
If you have been diagnosed with osteoarthritis and you are experiencing knee pain then you might be a good candidate for GenVisc850 injections (joint fluid therapy aka viscosupplementation aka hyaluronan injections).
In healthy joints, cartilage and synovial fluid provide the cushioning and lubrication your bones need to glide over each other properly. This helps reduce friction, absorb the shock of movement and protect bones from constant impact.
With osteoarthritis, cartilage starts to break down and the amount of hyaluronic acid (HA) within the synovial fluid decreases, causing it to become thinner. Genvisc are hyaluronan injections that help supplement the loss of joint fluid.
Safe and Effective
GenVisc850 is approved and has been determined to be safe and effective. It has also been used throughout the world over the past 20 years. Now approved in 64 countries with over 45 million syringes distributed worldwide. I has been proven and supported from the largest and longest duration double blind clinical study of hyaluronic acids for knee osteoarthritis. GenVisc850 has been published in over 20 clinical studies. It has shown to reduce joint pain and stiffness for up to 6 months, which can lead to an improved quality of life and may help delay total knee replacement surgery.
How are these administered?
GenVisc is administered by an injection directly into your knee joint once or once weekly for 3 – 5 weeks. After completing a full course of treatment many patients begin to experience pain relief at 4 weeks and continue to feel the benefits for up to 6 months post injections. Our medical providers always use image guided ultrasound to visualize the inside of the knee joint in real time, so there is NO guesswork! By injecting the knee in the exact location it gives you the greatest chance for success.
Nothing to Fear!
Our providers have literally performed thousands of knee injections. In fact, we have patients who travel from hours away just to get their knee injected by our knowledgeable and experienced medical providers. Why? Because their technique allows for patients to have a virtually painless knee injection. Finally, our providers want to encourage a healing environment in your knee so that you can delay or postpone knee replacement surgery.

Will My Insurance Cover GenVisc?
Most insurance carriers and Medicare cover Genvisc. When you come in for your initial appointment we will call and verify your insurance benefits.
Is GenVisc Right for Me?
If you are not getting enough pain relief from oral medications, and physical therapy and have been diagnosed with OA then you may want to consider GenVisc therapy prior to surgery.
